Chinese smartphone company Oppo is all prepared to introduce its new smartphone with in-display camera know-how on June 26 during Cell World Congress 2019 Shanghai, in accordance with media stories on Monday.
In response to an image posted on Weibo, a Chinese social network, the company has shared a video which shows off the evolution of the front-facing digicam housing technology for Oppo.
The video exhibits the rotation selfie camera of Oppo N series, waterdrop notch, the pop-up camera setup on the Oppo Find X and now the shark-fin setup on the Oppo Reno.
Right now, the name of the in-screen model is not clear; however, it’s assumed that the corporate is working on Find Y, and this would be the same.
In the meantime, another Chinese tech titan Xiaomi has accepted that the corporate is working on an in-screen front camera.
Firm’s Senior VP Wang Xiang had detailed on how this expertise will work. He stated that the ‘Xiaomi’s in-screen camera know-how could be the ultimate solution for a full screen co-existing with a front camera.
As soon as the expertise is successfully employed in a smartphone, it is going to be an achievement not only for Oppo but also for its founding firm BBK Electronics. The Chinese conglomerate’s sub-brands, particularly Vivo and Oppo, have quite a few trade-first improvements under their names, most of which revolve around bezel-less screens
Vivo last year became the first firm to introduce an in-screen fingerprint scanner in a phone, with the Vivo X20. Later, it went on to make the first notch-less smartphone, the Vivo Nex, that featured a pop-up selfie camera mechanism to remove the notch cutout seen on top of smartphones to mount the front facing optics.
