Zynga is revealing the limited launch of Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells, a brand new match-3 mobile game in collaboration with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
Bernard Kim, prez of publishing at Zynga, mentioned in an interview with GamesBeat that the game is in limited testing now in the Philippines, and it’ll launch after Zynga reviews the suggestions from users. Kim is also going to be a speaker at the GamesBeat Summit 2020 event on April 28-April 29 in Los Angeles.
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, a unit of Harry Potter license owner Warner Bros, has licensed Harry Potter to Zynga in this particular game segment, and the title will be published under the Portkey Games label.
Kim believes that Harry Potter fans love quiz, brainteasers, and several puzzle-inspired plays, and that’s why he thinks people of all ages will play Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells.
Zynga’s technique is to create “forever franchises,” or people who generate $100 million a year and last over five years. Kim stated, “This aligns with our concept of making forever franchises. We believe this franchise will be around for several years ahead.”
However, the competitors won’t be a walk within the park. The sport will coexist in the mobile sector alongside Niantic’s Harry Potter: Wizards Unite and Jam City’s Harry Potter: Hogwarts Thriller.
